What are you going to eat?

What are good weight and body composition goals for runners and other active individuals?

Athletes, as well as everyone else, should be concerned with body composition first, and then their body weight, for optimal performance and maintaining health. Figures tend to vary with sports and activity level, but general ranges of body fat for athletes are 5% to 12% in men and 10% to 20% in women, compared to 15% to 18% in men and 20% to 25% in women in the general population. Body weight goals can be estimated based on desirable body composition ranges.
