NFL Football: Titans cut Skip Hicks.

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - The Tennessee Titans released five-year running back Skip Hicks on Sunday.

Robert Holcombe, who has played well on special teams and led the team in rushing in the preseason, beat out Hicks for the backup job to Eddie George. Hicks was claimed off waivers by the Titans nearly a year ago.

In his career, Hicks has played in 38 NFL games with Washington and Tennessee, where he has rushed for 1109 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Titans also waived safety Tony George, receiver Chris Coleman, guard Barry Hall and defensive tackle Joe Salave'a. In addition, safety Bobby Myers was placed on injured reserve as the team reached the mandated 53-man roster. Myers is...
