Eden Prairie, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota tight end Byron Chamberlain suffered a left knee strain in Sunday's 27-23 loss to Chicago and could be sidelined a few weeks.

Chamberlain injured his posterior cruciate ligament in the first half of the Vikings' season-opener.

Minnesota head coach Mike Tice said Monday that Chamberlain's status will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.

The 30-year-old Chamberlain, who led all NFC players at his position in receptions last season, never started a game in six years with the Broncos before signing with Minnesota in 2001 as a free agent. He started 15 of 16 games and caught 57 passes for 666 yards and three touchdowns last season -- all career...
