Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - After having surgery on his arthritic right big toe, Los Angeles Lakers star Shaquille O'Neal is hurting again. The center did some light jogging on the treadmill before practice Monday and said on Tuesday that his foot was sore.

O'Neal underwent surgery that removed painful bone spurs on September 11 at UCLA's Outpatient Surgery Center. He is now suffering from a case of sesamoiditis, a form of tendinitis in the area beneath the toe, ever since the operation.

O'Neal is scheduled to see his surgeon on Wednesday, but he does not expect to be ready for the Lakers' season opener against San Antonio on October 29.
