Columbia,  SC (Sports Network) - Chuck Eidson scored a game-high 16 points and 
grabbed  six rebounds as the South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the Appalachian 
State Mountaineers to remain undefeated on the season, 71-56. 
 
Carlos Powell scored 15 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and Chris 
Warren added 13 points coming off the bench for South Carolina (3-0). 
 
Shawn  Hall  scored 15 points  and Nate Carson added  13 points and grabbed 10 
boards for Appalachian State (2-1) in the losing effort.
