Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox acquired second baseman Todd Walker from the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday in exchange for two minor league players to be named later.

The 29-year-old Walker hit .299 with 11 homers and 64 RBI over 155 games for the Reds last year. He made $2 million last season, his first full campaign with Cincinnati.

The left-handed hitting Walker spent his first 4 1/2 seasons with the Minnesota Twins before being dealt to the Colorado Rockies in the middle of the 2000 season. He was then traded to Cincinnati during the 2001 campaign. Walker has a career batting average of .292 with 58 homers and 313 RBI.
