Baseball: Mariners' Garcia wins arbitration case.

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Seattle Mariners pitcher Freddy Garcia landed a $6.875 million contract through salary arbitration on Wednesday.

A panel of three arbitrators ruled in favor of Garcia and against the Mariners, who offered their ace starter $5.9 million. Garcia made $3.8 million last season and went 16-10 with a 4.39 ERA in 34 starts.

Garcia, 26, attended the hearing in St. Petersburg, Florida on Tuesday and was en route back to Phoenix this morning. He will resume spring training workouts on Thursday.
