London, England (Sports Network) - Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires on Monday was named the Player of the Month for February of the Barclaycard Premiership.

Over the course of the month, the Frenchman helped the Gunners to two wins and a draw, scoring three goals in the process. Pires' form throughout the season has been above par, scoring 10 goals in the league to date.

The decision was made by the Barclaycard Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.
