Men's Tennis: Coria slapped with fine for tossing racket.

Paris, France (Sports Network) - Argentine tennis player Guillermo Coria was fined $2,000 for accidently tossing his racket at a ball girl during his semifinal loss to Martin Verkerk in the French Open on Friday.

Coria was trying to get to a Verkerk backhand on the final point of the first set when he flailed at the ball, losing his racket in the process. The racket ricocheted off the ball girl.

Coria immediately apologized and offered the girl his shirt. Tournament officials immediately attended to the ball girl, who was not injured.

Referee Fabrice Chouquet and Grand Slam supervisor Norbert Peick could have disqualified the Argentinean, but let him continue after finding out the girl...
