NCAA Men's: Colorado and Patton agree on new deal.

Colorado men's basketball coach Ricardo Patton agreed to a three-year contract extension on Wednesday. The deal will keep Patton in Boulder through the 2007-08 season.

The contract, however, does not include any performance-based provisions after negotiations between the school and Patton had stalled. The university wanted a stipulation that it could fire Patton if Colorado did not reach the NCAA Tournament twice in three years, starting in 2004-05.

Patton agreed to take a three-year deal with no provisions, rather than the five-year contract he was in search of.
