NCAA Men's: Contract extension official for Patton.

Colorado men's basketball coach Ricardo Patton officially received a three-year contract extension Thursday. The deal, which will pay Patton $586,000 per season, was originally agreed upon in August but needed the final approval of the university's Board of Regents.

The deal will keep Patton in Boulder through the 2007-08 season.

"We are pleased to secure Coach Patton's leadership of our men's basketball program for another three years and look forward to his continuing successes, both on the court and in mentoring our student-athletes," said Colorado Chancellor Richard L. Byyny.
