On September 29, 2003 the staff (the "Staff") of the Division of Investment Management of the Securities and Exchange Commission (the "Commission"), with the assistance of the Divisions of Corporation Finance, Enforcement and Market Regulation, and the Offices of Compliance Inspections and Examinations, Economic Analysis, International Affairs and Investor Education and Assistance, issued a report entitled "Implications of the Growth of Hedge Funds" (the "Report"). The Report is the result of the Staff's fact-finding study (the "Study") aimed at reviewing the operations and practices of hedge funds which commenced in June, 2002.
