Saudi Arabia Helps Replace Lost Venezuelan Oil to US Refiners.

Saudi Arabia delivered on its promise to help US refiners make up for the loss of Venezuelan crude oil in January, and was again by far the largest supplier of crude to the US in January with 1.82 million barrels per day, just more than the 1.815 million b/d in December.

As a result of a strike that started Dec. 2, Venezuelan exports to the US dropped to only 445,000 b/d from Venezuela in January, down from 652,000 b/d in December, data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) shows. Last year, the US imported on average 1.14 million b/d from Venezuela.

Canada was the second largest crude supplier to the US in January with 1.621 million b/d, up from 1.49 million b/d in December. Mexico came in third with 1.566 million b/d in January, down from...
