MUMBAI HIGH COURT RAISES QUERY ON ENRON COURT ORDER.

MUMBAI, Feb 8 Asia Pulse - The Mumbai High Court has directed the Maharashtra Government to convey within two weeks whether a London court order, staying proceedings against Enron's Dabhol Power Company (DPC) in Indian courts, is still in force.
The direction was given by Justices Ajit Shah and Vijaya Tahilramani, who yesterday heard a number of public interest litigation (PILs) bids.
The bids are challenging the legality of DPC, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) entered into with Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB), high tarifsf charged by DPC and guarantees provided by the government to the project.
