TAIWAN TO SET RULES ON IMPORTS OF MAINLAND BOOKS IN 2 MONTHS.

TAIPEI, March 26 Asia Pulse - The government is to work out regulations that will allow the import of publications and films from mainland China in two months, government officials said Monday.

The announcement was made after the Home and Border Affairs Committee of the Legislative Yuan called a meeting to deliberate a draft revision of the Statute Governing the Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area.

The draft, submitted by opposition People First Party Legislator Pang Chien-kuo and others, is designed to pave the way for the import of mainland publications, films, videos and radio and television programs.
