MICROSOFT PROCUREMENT DEAL TO SAVE PHILIPPINES GOVT US$3.92 MLN.

MANILA, April 9 Asia Pulse - The Philippines government expects an e-procurement agreement signed with multinational software giant Microsoft Corp to save it an estimated P200 million (US$3.92 million).
Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Emilia Boncodin made the savings projection in a presentation before the 13th Information and Technology and E-Commerce Council (ITECC) meeting held at the State Dining Room in Malacanang Monday.
In her briefing, Boncodin told President Arroyo and the members of ITECC that the government had so far achieved a savings of P5.8 million in the span of only three weeks covering only nine agencies of the government.
