QANTAS TO SPEND US$113 MLN ON NEW E-BUSINESS PLATFORM.

SYDNEY, June 21 Asia Pulse - Australia's largest airline Qantas Airways Ltd (ASX:QAN) will spend $A200 million ($US113.5 million) over 10 years to build a new e-business platform aimed at cutting internal costs by 15 per cent.
Qantas said it would soon commence work on a four-month study to outline details of a technology overhaul aimed at greater coordination and efficiency across its human resources, finance, payroll and purchasing departments.
The overhaul would also affect some of the airline's customer-related departments, such as its customer service and frequent flyer departments.
Qantas chief information officer Fiona Balfour said the airline would enlist PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, now called Monday, and technology services group...
