TAIWAN ATTRACTS US$4.1 BLN FDI AND READIES FOR WTO ENTRY.

WASHINGTON, Sept 18 Asia Pulse - Taiwan attracted US$4.109 billion worth of foreign direct investment last year because it was on the threshold of entering the World Trade Organization (WTO), according to a U.N. report released Tuesday.
Although the amount of foreign direct investment that Taiwan attracted in 2001 was below the amount of US$4.928 billion for 2000, the drop was much less compared to the drop in the total amount of global foreign direct investment, which decreased by more than half between 2000 and 2001, according to the report.
