VIETNAM'S CA MAU PROVINCE TARGETS US$500 MLN IN SEAFOOD EXPORTS.

HANOI, Sept 11 Asia Pulse - The southernmost province of Ca Mau is chasing a target of US$500 million in seafood exports by 2005, even though its exports have already increased nearly four times in the past five years.
The province's seafood exports now account for one-sixth of Vietnam's total seafood revenue, making it the main exporter of such products, according to head of the Ca Mau Seafood Department's Trade Promotion Office, Ly Thuan.
However, the sector still faces many challenges in its efforts to keep growing.
Exporters are being urged to keep an eye on the latest market prices, and specific demands of foreign markets, to gain a competitive edge.
