KOREA'S COMBINED CAPITALIZATION EQUAL TO 79% OF GENERAL ELECTRIC.

SEOUL, Oct 14 Asia Pulse - The market capitalization of Korean companies listed on the main stock market represents only about 79 per cent of the market capitalization of General Electric (GE), the Korea Stock Exchange said Monday.
A GE stake of 31 per cent is enough to acquire all Korea's listed companies, excluding financial companies. A stake of only 13.8 per cent is sufficient to acquire the listed companies affiliated with the nation's top 10 business groups.
As of last Friday, the combined market capitalization of the listed companies reached 239.2 trillion won, or 79.2 per cent of GE's market capitalization equivalent to 301.8 trillion won (US$234.8 billion).
