POLICE IMPROVE TAIWAN'S CD ANTI-PIRACY EFFORTS.

TAIPEI, Oct 2 Asia Pulse - Representatives of the National Police Administration told participants at the annual meeting of the International Federation of Phonographic Industry in Amsterdam last week that Taiwan's police have stepped up their anti-piracy efforts in recent years and large numbers of pirated CDs have been seized in raids.

A spokesman for security police said Tuesday that while Taiwan is branded as one of the most serious makers of pirated goods in the world, police authorities used the opportunity of the IFPI annual meeting to report on the effectiveness of police investigations and several raids which took place last year.
