INCITEC, PIVOT CAN MERGE: AUSTRALIAN COMPETITION WATCHDOG.

MELBOURNE, Oct 16 Asia Pulse - The merger between listed fertiliser production company Incitec Ltd and the unlisted Pivot Ltd will not be opposed by Australia's competition watchdog.
Incitec (ASX:ICT) - which is a subsidiary of chemicals and explosives giant Orica Ltd (ASX:ORI) - and Pivot are the two largest manufacturers and suppliers of fertiliser products in Australia.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said it had concluded after its inquiries into the proposed merger that fertiliser products containing the same basic nutrient were generally substitutable for each other and constrained each other in price.
