WESTPAC CEO SAYS BT PURCHASE WILL DETERMINE HIS FUTURE.

MELBOURNE, Nov 4 Asia Pulse - The result of Westpac Banking Group Ltd's (ASX:WBC) A$900 million (US$505 million) acquisition of retail funds manager BT Financial Group would determine how long chief executive David Morgan would stay in his position, he conceded.

Mr Morgan said the test will be in 12 months time when it will be clear as to how well Westpac has integrated the BT operation.

"That is the time when we will really know whether we've had the success that we are confident of now," Mr Morgan said on Sunday.

"I think it will work well, if it doesn't work well then that is my accountability."
