TAIWAN UNIVERSITY, SCIENCE PARK COOPERATE IN SYSTEM-ON-CHIP PROJECT.

TAIPEI, Dec 10 Asia Pulse - The National Chiao Tung University and the Hsinchu Science-based Industrial Park will cooperate in a system-on-chip (SOC) project, aimed at attracting international corporations of electronic design technologies to set up research and development centers in the park, a spokesman of the science park said yesterday.
The spokesman said that the 743-hectare science park has been home to 312 high technology companies since its establishment two decades ago. While most of the hi-tech companies are engaged in manufacturing, the park administration is expecting to attract more domestic and international corporations to set up R&D centers.
