AUSTRALIA'S HAMILTON ISLAND RESORT MAY SELL ASSETS.

SYDNEY, Dec 31 Asia Pulse - The future of the Hamilton Island resort (ASX:HAM) remains up in the air while its owners work through plans to possibly sell off some assets after an overall bad year for international and local tourism.
Hamilton Island Ltd had originally intended to make an announcement about the fate of the resort, on the Great Barrier Reef, by the end of 2002, but today said Christmas and New Year holidays had delayed negotiations.
Several bids - one from a management buy-out group - have been received since the company said in September that it would examine options including selling the company, shares or assets, such as its airport or hotel.
