SHOPPERS FLOCK TO AUSTRALIA'S POST-CHRISTMAS SALES.

SYDNEY, Dec 27 Asia Pulse - Post-Christmas sales were solid yesterday, as masses of shoppers converged on retailers in search of Boxing Day bargains.
Retailers said the excellent start to the sale period capped off a Christmas shopping period which met expectations.
"The Boxing Day sales started off with an absolute bang," said a spokeswoman for the Australian Retailers' Association's (ARA) Victorian branch.
"It's busy in the city and ... suburban and regional stores have been going gang-busters."
In NSW, retailers were just as happy, said the head of ARA's NSW branch, Duncan Shaw.
"Yesterday in (Sydney) was probably the biggest sale day we've had for many years - I can't recall seing bigger crowds at the opening of the stores...
