VODAFONE AUSTRALIA FACES CONTRACT ACCUSATION BY MOBILE CO.

SYDNEY, Feb 17 Asia Pulse - Vodafone Australia did not honour a customer building agreement with Mobile Innovations Ltd (ASX:MOB) when it set a zero subscriber acquisition target midway through 2001, a court was told today.

Mobile Innovations started a 10-year agent service provider agreement (ASP) with Vodafone Pacific Ltd in September 1998, but friction between the two parties became apparent early in the relationship, the NSW Supreme Court heard.

Mobile Innovations, a telecommunications services and direct marketing group, is seeking up to $A90 million ($US53.12 million) in damages regarding the ASP and Vodafone's withdrawal of obligations.
