FILIPINOS MAY BE ALLOWED TO RETAIN DUAL-CITZENSHIP.

MANILA, April 25 Asia Pulse - Some two million Filipinos living in the United States are eagerly awaiting the enactment of the dual citizenship bill which has been approved in the Senate but has remained pending at the House of Representatives.

This was disclosed by Senate President Franklin Drilon who returned from a trip to Florida, USA where he was invited as guest speaker during the Philippine Festival (Philfest 2003). He also met with Filipino community leaders in San Francisco, California.

Drilon said majority of the Filipino community were grateful to Congress for the enactment of the Overseas Absentee Voting Act of 2003 but were extremely disappointed over the delay in the passage of the dual citizenship bill.
