KOREA LAUNCHES TASK FORCE FOR LG-PHILIPS LCD INVESTMENT PROJECT.

SEOUL, April 7 Asia Pulse - The government is making efforts to demonstrate its encouragement of more foreign investment through an inter-ministry task force to help LG-Philips LCD build the world's largest LCD plant in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.
The recently-formed task force is staffed with officials from 15 government agencies, including the Finance-Economy, Defense and Construction-Transportation Ministries. It is headed by Park Bong-kyu, head of the Commerce, Industry and Energy Ministry's trade and investment office.
The government's launching of a task force to assist a specific foreign investment project was unprecedented.
"We'll help LG-Philips address various problems it might face while building the plant," an official at the ministry said...
