U.S. FINAL DUTY ON HYNIX TO DEAL SETBACK TO KOREAN EXPORTS.

SEOUL, June 18 Asia Pulse - The final decision by the US Commerce Department to impose stiff punitive tariffs on Hynix (KSE:00660) memory chip shipments has sent jitters through the business community as it comes at a time when South Korea faces a series of trade disputes in the coming months.
The ruling immediately raised fears the European Union (EU) may follow suit in August, when it plans to complete a review of whether the Korean government provided illegal subsidies for Hynix Semiconductor Inc.
Such a decision may adversely affect on-going trade disputes over the Korean government's alleged provision of subsidies to the shipbuilding, paper making and livestock industries sector.
