MITSUBISHI TO BUILD NEW R&D CENTRE IN ADELAIDE.

ADELAIDE, July 24 Asia Pulse - A new $A230 million ($US151.48 million) research and development centre is to be built in Adelaide by Japanese car giant Mitsubishi.

The company today confirmed the investment plan, which would allow it to contribute to the development of Mitsubishi products worldwide.

It will involve a major upgrade of Mitsubishi's test facilities east of Adelaide including the construction of a $10 million high-speed test track.

It was also expected to boost research and development staff numbers to about 300 and came at the expense of upgraded research facilities in the United States, Europe or Japan.
