INDIA'S RELIANCE INDUSTRIES BOOKS 26.04% RISE IN Q2 NET PROFIT.

MUMBAI, Oct 20 Asia Pulse - Beating market expectations, Reliance Industries Ltd (BSE:RELI) has posted 26.04 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 12,630 million (US$278.4 million) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2003, compared to Rs 10,020 million in same period in the previous fiscal year.

The net turnover in the reporting quarter has gone up to Rs 126,930 million as against Rs 115,190 million in the July-September 2002 period, RIL vice chairman Anil Ambani said.

The net profit and turnover for the 6 months ended September 2003 stood at Rs 23,670 million (Rs 19,200 million in April-September 2002) and Rs 251,940 million (Rs 221,690 million) respectively, Ambani said.
