AUSTRALIA'S TELSTRA BOOKS 0.5% RISE IN Q1 SALES REVENUE.

SYDNEY, Oct 21 Asia Pulse - Australia's largest telecommunications company Telstra Corp Ltd (ASX:TLS) today reported an 0.5 per cent rise in first quarter sales revenue and kept its outlook for 2003/04 unchanged.

Telstra said sales revenue for the quarter ended September 30, 2003, was A$5.032 billion (US$3.46 billion), driven by growth in Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), mobiles, internet and internet protocol (IP) products.

This was partly offset by a decline in revenue at Hong Kong CSL, the company said.

Telstra maintained its guidance for the full year of expected positive revenue growth and any cost growth being less than revenue growth.
