FAMILY OF LATE HYUNDAI CHAIRMAN LOCKED IN MANAGEMENT DISPUTE.

SEOUL, Nov 7 Asia Pulse - Family members of the late Hyundai Group chairman Chung Mong-hun are plunging into a dispute over the control of the struggling conglomerate, industry sources said today.

The unusual family conflict was triggered by the inauguration of Hyun Jeong-eun, the wife of the late Chung, as the chairwoman of Hyundai Elevator Co. on Oct. 21, following her husband's suicide in early August.

The 48-year-old Hyun, who controls Hyundai Elevator (KSE:17800), the de facto holding company of the group, through her mother's 18.57-percent stake, said she would also assume the post of the group's chair.
