AUSTRALIA'S OPTUS TO LAUNCH MOBILE PHONE TV SERVICE.
AsiaPulse News, November, 2003
SYDNEY, Nov 10 Asia Pulse - Optus has launched the nation's first mobile phone television offering, continuing its push to increase revenue through its existing customer base.
The Singapore Telecommunications-owned telco (ASX:SGT) said any of its five million-plus mobile customers could watch the ABC, SBS and CNN live over their handsets, if they had one of the five models equipped to run video streaming.
"All this goes towards building our target of continuing wanting to grow our revenue stream from our existing customer base," said the telco's head of mobile, Allen Lew, launching the product.
Mr Lew also said Optus, the nation's second biggest telco, expected to keep growing mobile revenue at double digit rates over the third quarter.
