MOTOROLA EYES BIG SHARE AS PHILIPPINE CELL PHONE MARKETS HEATS UP.

CEBU CITY, Nov 11 Asia Pulse - Mobile phone manufacturer Motorola plans to give market leader Nokia a run for its money as the former plans to come up with an aggressive marketing strategy.

Scott Dutchslag, corporate vice president of Strategy and Business Development for Motorola's personal communications sector (PCS), admitted that Nokia is the market leader in the country's cellular phone market.

According to Dutchslag, Motorola has lost its market leadership worldwide due to the company's complacency.

"We got too arrogant when we became dominant," he said during a press conference with local media.

About four to five eyars ago, he said, Motorola held between 60 to 70 per cent of the mobile phone market worldwide.
