VODAFONE AUSTRALIA TO LAUNCH 3G IN 2005.

SYDNEY, Nov 26 Asia Pulse - Vodafone Australia said it is still targeting the launch of its third generation (3G) in 2005.
It said it will commence planning for the initial deployment of the 3G network as a Vodafone only initiative.
Vodafone said it would be investing "hundreds of millions of dollars" in Australia over the next two years, developing a globally compatible 3G network to enable its customers to get faster, enhanced mobile services.
Vodafone Australia managing director Grahame Maher said Vodafone had been involved in detailed discussions with a number of mobile operators over the past few months in order to establish a partnering agreement.
