SK TELECOM, AHNLAB DEVELOP ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE FOR CELL PHONES.

SEOUL, June 21 Asia Pulse - SK Telecom Co. (KSE:17670), South Korea's top mobile phone operator, said on Monday it has developed a package of anti-virus software with wide-ranging applications for cell phones in joint research with Ahnlab Inc., the country's computer security leader.

The "V3 Mobile" vaccine, which it claims is the world's first available anti-virus solution for cell phones, will be used for a homegrown mobile application-downloading software called wireless Internet platform interoperability (WIPI), the company said in a statement.

As with conventional anti-virus programs for personal computers, the vaccine allows users to download or update the security software through the wireless Internet.
