KDDI BEATS DOCOMO, NTT IN FOREIGN STOCK OWNERSHIP GROWTH.

TOKYO, June 16 Asia Pulse - Changes in the percentage of foreign shareholders at KDDI Corp. (TSE:9433), NTT DoCoMo Inc. (TSE:9437), and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (TSE:9432) for the year ended March 31 underscore their differing circumstances and investor perceptions of them.
KDDI marked the largest increase in foreign ownership by marking a 5.4-point rise on the year to a record 23.9 per cent, thanks in large part to a steady inflow of money from European and U.S. pension funds betting on improved earnings for the firm's au cellular phone service. Net subscribers, calculated by subtracting cancellations from new contracts, surpassed DoCoMo's for the first time last fiscal year.
