INDONESIA KEEN TO RESOLVE TRADE PROBLEMS WITH THAILAND.

JAKARTA, Aug 30 Asia Pulse - Indonesia will discuss problems affecting its plan to trade with Thailand on counter-trade terms during an ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) meeting on September 3-5 in Jakarta.

"I will discuss our counter-trade problems with Thailand at an informal meeting during the AEM conference," Industry and Trade Minister Rini MS Suwandi said here Friday.

According to Rini, in its development the deal could not run smoothly following Indonesia's decision to ban rice imports.

Under Indonesia's counter-trade deal with Thailand, the latter would supply the former with 200,000 tons of rice in exchange for train coaches made by Indonesia's state rolling stock manufacturer PT INKA.
