TELSTRA INTRODUCES NEW INTERNET SERVICE.

SYDNEY, Nov 15 Asia Pulse - Telstra Corp (ASX:TLS) today launched an internet service to challenge emerging telcos like Unwired, by allowing wireless broadband access anywhere in the major cities and regional centres across Australia.
Unlike Unwired - which targets residential customers in Sydney - Telstra will initially target business customers who access the internet on laptops, mobile phones and portable devices such as Blackberry.
Telstra's Mobile Broadband service was made possible by a A$50 million (US$38.4 million) upgrade to its CDMA mobile phone network, which spans 98 per cent of the Australian population.
The upgrade was just to the data component of the network, not the
voice component.
