LG TELECOM GAINS CELL PHONE MARKET SHARE FROM RIVALS IN OCT.

SEOUL, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - LG Telecom Ltd. (KOSDAQ:032640), the smallest of South Korea's three mobile phone operators, gained market share from larger rivals SK Telecom Co. (KSE:017670) and KTF Co. in October because its mobile-banking services helped it attract more new subscribers, the companies said Monday.
Seoul-based LG Telecom added a net 69,954 mobile phone customers in October, giving it a 16.29 per cent market share, up 0.15 percentage point from the previous month.
SK Telecom, the country's biggest mobile phone operator, attracted a net 41,456 subscribers last month, but its market share slipped 0.04 percentage point to 51.43 per cent at the end of October.
