EXPERT SAYS US DUTIES ON VIETNAM SHRIMP EXPORTS ARE "POLITICAL HANDOUTS".

HANOI, Dec 6 Asia Pulse - The US Department of Commerce's (DoC) final decision on duties on Vietnamese shrimp exports in the anti-dumping suit is antithetical to American ideals of freedom and democracy, said Jonathan Stamell, President of the Stamell & Associates Firm in New York.

Talking with Lao Dong (Labour) newspaper about his opinion on the DoC decision on shrimp and catfish anti-dumping lawsuits, Stamell added: "As a pragmatic issue, the US government apply them with varying intensity to offer protection to American industries that say they are unfairly threatened by foreign competition.
