SAMSUNG UNVEILS DIGITAL MUSIC PLAYER WITH 20GB HARD DISK DRIVE.

SEOUL, Dec 28 Asia Pulse - South Korean technology giant Samsung Electronics Co. (SKE:005930) on Tuesday unveiled a new digital music player with increased storage capacity.

The Yepp YH-925 model, equipped with 1.8-inch color liquid crystal display screen, is capable of storing 20 gigabytes of music files. It will cost 499,000 won (US$478).

Normally, one music file takes up around 3 to 4 megabytes, so the new device can hold up to 6700 songs, the company said.

Samsung Electronics and other digital music player makers such as ReignCom Ltd. (Kosdaq:060570) are reinforcing their product line-ups to counter U.S. Apple Computer Inc.'s popular iPod digital music player sales here.
