With a 94 per cent market share last year, Epson dominates the Vietnamese market. How does Vietnam compare with other Asean countries in terms of market size?
Sales of dot matrix printers in other Asean countries are bigger than in Vietnam.
Thailand, for example, consumes about 80,000 printers per year, of which we have a 84 per cent market share.
The Indonesian market is even bigger than Thailand with around 100,000 printers sold a year. Epson has set up a representative office in Indonesia and has a market share of 90 per cent.
Vietnam's market size is smaller with 18,000 printers sold a year.
But, we have confidence that the Vietnamese market will grow fast in the near future.
Thailand and Indonesia have not grown...
