The fine detail of News International's move from Wapping has yet to emerge but it is safe to say the deal is a real shot in the arm for MAN Roland

It was perhaps the best kept secret that drew almost no surprise: News International would leave Wapping for a new printing plant near the M25 and would equip it with MAN Roland presses in the new triple-width format.

News International has been desperate for more colour and was hard pressed over deadlines, especially for the Sunday Times and News of the World. The company had dismissed rumours of an imminent announcement two years ago having promised press suppliers a decision by Christmas 2001, and further hold ups were reportedly due to the priority given to Rupert Murdoch's television...
