`Virgin will always be agents' friend'

Sir Richard Branson talked candidly about everything from commissions to cocktails on the inaugural Virgin Atlantic flight to Sydney last week. Louise Prior reports from Australia
Virgin Atlantic chairman Sir Richard Branson has pledged his continuing support for agents in Australia despite other airlines slashing commission.
Speaking in Sydney after the carrier's first flight from London, Branson said: "It is unlikely that we will follow suit - we have always been seen as the agents' friend. Virgin Blue [the group's no-frills airline in Australia] works with the trade.
"We have a good relationship with agents in the rest of the world. We hope to do the same here."
