On May 7, 2002, USA Networks Inc. transferred ownership of its cable television networks, its television program production and distribution company and its feature film production and distribution company to a joint venture controlled by Vivendi Universal SA. The resulting pared-down company, which changed its name to InterActiveCorp on June 23, 2003, focuses on interactive commerce in the areas of electronic retailing, travel services and information services. Most JAG subsidiaries are industry leaders and make extensive use of telephone call centers and the Internet.
