A new radio deal means the Indianapolis Colts are gaining in their effort to build a regional fan base. But a league-run television network could sack marketing opportunities and an important local revenue stream.

The Colts recently signed with Louisville radio station WHAS AM-840, a Clear Channel Communications affiliate and Kentucky's biggest radio station. The 50,000-watt WHAS will carry all Colts regular-season games this year to its listeners across Kentucky and in parts of Indiana, Tennessee, Ohio and Illinois.
