Rough times ahead
I am writing in response to the failure of Measure 28. I have worked in a school for abused children where the staff teaches them to live again after experiencing horrendous events. This school had at least 10 layoffs recently. I am currently working with an at-risk population. I have seen 14-year-old girls with injection sores on their arms from drug habits. We are affected by budget cuts. Now we, as well as many other social service agencies, are going to have to squeeze tighter.
